We can liken life to a race. Each of us has been given what it takes to make maximum impact in our given assignment on this planet, benefiting from the opportunities it presents us at the same time.
Going back to the tortoise and hare story mentioned earlier, the lesson from that race was that having a gift or talent was no guarantee of success. Every gift or talent has to be put into use as opportunity serves so that we can get skillful at using it. It is our skillful use of these gifts and talents that will enable us make great strides towards the fulfillment of life goals.
As great as this lesson is, it is only part of the story of the race between the tortoise and the hare. In reality there were three other races, each with its own important lessons – lessons to help us win in the race of life.
